Blade Runner: The Final Cut

In the distant year 2019, the once glorious city of Los Angeles is now a dark and decaying place. Rick Deckard, a retired officer, is forced to continue his work as Blade Runner when 4 androids (known as “Replicants”) flee from their colony back to Earth. His task? Eliminate them, one by one. His problem? Rachel, an android he develops unexpected feelings for.

There are just a few genre movies which stood the testament of time in the way Blade Runner has. Its attractiveness to audiences to this day, after 40 years, can be attributed to flawless production, advanced special effects, and almost futuristic camera. This last re-edit of the 1982 original shows us the uncensored version with extra scenes the public never saw before it’s released in 2007.

BIO

Ridley Scott was born in the UK in 1937. As a young man he was planning to join the army, but thankfully his father pushed him towards art. He attended London’s Royal College of Art, where he helped establish the film department. After directing commercials and TV shows, the public soon began recognizing him as a film director, after his mega-hits Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977), Alien (1979), Thelma & Louise (1991), Gladiator (2000) and Black Hawk Down (2001). While Blade Runner (1982) was not an initial hit, with time it earned the admiration from both critics and viewers. In 2003 he accepted the Knight Bachelor of the Order of the British Empire.
