While the mother obsessively presents the image of the perfect family through her popular blog, Tinja, her young gymnast daughter, tries everything to please her. One day, Tinja finds a mysterious egg, which she chooses to care for. Once it hatches, she names the creature within it Alli, which acts out all her repressed emotions.
Finally ― it’s here, one of the most original horror films in years by the public's opinion. This old-school creature feature could've easily come out of some weird Spielberg-Cronenberg laboratory. It has everything, from fairytale undertone, over true ominous atmosphere, to horror sensation. All wrapped up in the topic of repressed emotion under the pressure of shallowness, social media and very very questionable family relationships.
