With each recollection, our memories become increasingly hazy until they fade away or distort. This short film explores the process of recalling memories through fragments of the director's personal archives juxtaposed with 3D scans of her childhood home.
Émilie Gélinas-Bellemare is a designer and artist based in Montreal, Canada. During her last years of study in graphic design at the Université du Québec à Montréal, she found a passion for 3D and animation. As one of her student projects, she directed her debut short film “Faux Souvenirs” in 2023, exploring themes of nostalgia and erasing memories. The film was part of two festivals in Montreal. Today, Émilie works as a designer and continues to develop her artistic practice in her free time, experimenting with generative art, interaction and 3D.
