When Edna, a beloved mother and grandmother, suddenly disappears, her daughter and granddaughter return to their family home to find her. Even though Edna soon returns home, nothing is as it used to be, and a weird presence invades these women’s lives and minds.
This horror takes the familiar haunted house story and turns it upside down through a bleak and dark focus on the relationships of the three generations of women and the sad reality of dementia, resulting in a suspenseful, mysterious, and masterfully directed film that will please the fans of full-blooded horror films. With its seamless combination of dread and humanity evoking The Babadook, which the Fantastic Zagreb festivalgoers remember well, Relic will cause both screams and tears but will certainly not lose your attention! The film had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.
