ORIGINAL TITLE

COLOUR OUT OF SPACE

Once a mysterious purple meteorite unexpectedly falls on their small farm, an entire family will be tested, finding themselves face to face with an alien organism invading their bodies and minds.

One of this year’s most attractive SF films is based on a short story by the master of horror H. P. Lovecraft and directed by the legendary Richard Stanley, with the one and only Nicolas Cage in the lead role, which seems perfect for his recognizable maniacal acting style. Filled with unexpected twists and turns, shocking and grotesque scenes, attractive shots, and gorgeous photography, Color Out of Space has all the necessary elements that will guarantee the film’s cult status. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.

BIO

Richard Stanley was born in South Africa to parents deeply interested in the mysticism of that stunningly beautiful country. He is descended from the famous explorer and journalist, Sir Henry Morton Stanley, while his mother authored a book on the myths and legends of Southern Africa. Stanley himself picked up their interest in the mystical, exploring initiation rituals and tribal dance while studying anthropology. His first foray into filmmaking was a high school project, a short film titled Rites of Passage, which won him the IAC International Student Film Trophy film award. He followed it up by making more shorts, only to then try his hand at music videos and later feature films. Even though he has made some highly regarded mainstream films, such as The Island of Doctor Moreau, his focus has always been on indie films, including The Secret Glory and The White Darkness.
