DREAMIN'ZONE

Follow the memories of the now-grown-up Yuri, a Korean woman, and take part in her incredible adventure in the most dangerous, yet beautiful, area of the planet : the demilitarized zone between the 2 Koreas.

Yuri, a 67-year-old Korean woman, remembers the first day of spring when she had just turned 8. She had decided to go away from her mother’s home in South Korea to know if her father is still alive, a violinist soldier, held up in the North. A formidable adventure awaits her in the demilitarised zone at once heavenly and terrifying, where she will meet strange birds, mysterious spirits, but also traces of the war... Will she join her father?

BIO

Fabienne Giezendanner is a director in animation & virtual reality films, author, and independent producer based in France. She has created and directed several animation shorts and interactive projects with Switzerland and Belgium. In 2016 she initiated a poetic film project ”Dreamin’Zone” inspired from a story of South & North Korea, a 2D & 3D animated, interactive and immersive fiction for virtual reality (VR) headsets. She invented the notion of “stretchy film” combining the cinematic and VR tools in one plot. Dreamin’Zone, nadahnutog pričom Južne i Sjeverne Koreje. Riječ je o 2D i 3D animiranoj i imerzivnoj fikciji za VR naočale. Osim toga, izumila je pojam stretchy film, koji se odnosi na spoj filmskih i VR alata za potrebe radnje.
