In this sequel to The Terminator made in 1984, Sarah Connor and her ten-year-old son John are pursued by a new Terminator. This upgraded version, the T-1000, is on a mission to kill John and prevent him from becoming the leader of the human resistance in the future. But, to get to John, he must first go through: the Terminator, an older model but still an efficient and badass killer. To make this film, James Cameron actually waited for the technology to become advanced enough to do his vision justice and wow the audiences with the revolutionary special effects. At the time of its release, Terminator 2: Judgment Day was the most expensive film ever made, with fantastic visual effects and attractive action scenes. It was no wonder the film won several awards, including Academy Awards for Best Sound Effects Editing, Best Sound, Best Makeup, and Best Visual Effects. Many will agree that Terminator 2: Judgment Day was not only better than the original film but is one of the best Hollywood-made sci-fi action films of all times.
James Francis Cameron was born on August 16, 1954 and is considered a great film director, producer, screenwriter, editor, artist, and environmentalist. He is best known for making science fiction films like The Terminator (1984) which earned him first recognition. He further made genre classic like Aliens (1986), The Abyss (1989), Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), and the comedy thriller True Lies (1994). He did venture out of sci-fi / triller / horror grounds with Titanic (1997) and Avatar (2009), with Titanic earning him the Academy Award in Best Picture, Best Director and Best Film Editing.
