A young woman is forced by a mysterious cultist to perform a purification rite to save humanity from a great impending evil. During her journey between uncontaminated and careless natural landscapes, halfway between reality and delirium, the girl experiences the anguish of human catharsis. In KATHARSIS, myth and reality fuse in a balance between classical tragedy and contemporary social commentary at a metaphorical level.
Ludovico Leone was born in Siracusa, Sicily, Italy. He's interested in many art forms, including poetry, music and photography. KATHARSIS is his first short film.
